As of April 2024, Paddle is Fastmail's merchant of record. Customers subscribed to our newest plans will be billed through Paddle.
Any payments for your Fastmail subscription that are made through Paddle will appear on your bank statement as "Paddle.net* Fastmail."
Invoices and other payment-related emails from Paddle will be sent to a Masked Email address that is automatically generated for your Fastmail account. For more information, please see Your Paddle Masked Email address below.
Fastmail customers who are not billed through Paddle are being migrated on an ongoing basis. We’ll email you before your first renewal under the new plans to ensure you have all the details, including the price of your renewal, which may change. To ensure that this message — or any other message — is a legitimate communication from Fastmail, look out for the white check mark in a green circle. For more information on identifying legitimate mail from the Fastmail team, please see our Phishing help page.

How can I tell if I will be billed through Paddle?
The easiest way to tell if your account is on Paddle billing is to go to your Settings → Billing & Plan screen and click Choose a plan.
You will be brought to a screen where you can see Fastmail's subscription plan offerings. If you are on Paddle billing, you will see the Individual, Duo, and Family options under the Individual & family tab, and Basic, Standard, and Professional options under the Business tab. You will also see a dropdown menu on this screen where you can select your country to view pricing in other currencies.
Your Paddle Masked Email address
To protect your privacy and avoid sharing your real email address with a third party, we create a Masked Email address on your behalf for emails from Paddle, including billing notices and invoices.
In the event that you need to contact Paddle directly, you will need to provide them with your Paddle Masked Email address instead of a Fastmail address, as your regular username is not shared with them.
To find your Paddle Masked Email address, go to your Settings → Masked Email screen and enter "Paddle" in the search box.
Invoices
After submitting a payment, you will receive an invoice from Paddle. Your Paddle Masked Email address will be listed on the invoice.
If you need to have a copy of your invoice resent to you, you can obtain it from Paddle by following these steps:
- Find your Paddle Masked Email address.
-
- Go to Settings → Masked Email.
- Enter "Paddle" in the search box and copy the corresponding Masked Email address.
-
- Go to Paddle's website and click Look up my purchase.
- Enter your Paddle Masked Email address, then click Locate my purchase.
- You will receive an email in your Fastmail account with the subject line "Verify your email". Click the Verify and show purchases link in the email.

Why is Fastmail using Paddle?
We use Paddle as our merchant of record for a few different reasons, including:
- ensuring global tax compliance,
- the ability to offer billing in local currency (a longtime request from our customers), and
- allowing Fastmail's developers to focus on our product instead of billing issues.
